MARINE CORPS CRYPTOLOGIC ASSOCIATION
The Marine Corps Cryptologic Association (MCCA) is a non-profit fraternal organization dedicated to encouraging social camaraderie between current and former cryptologic Marines. We have been in existence since 1989 and have a current active membership of 443. Every year we have an annual reunion where we join together to elaborate on old stories, make up bigger and better ones, and see old friends and make new ones. Our reunions are generally held in the late summer and rotate between the East, Central, and Western United States to better allow all of our members to participate. We publish a quarterly newsletter that is chock full of interesting articles, mail from other members, fascinating stories, and tidbits of information that will peak your interest.
We have members who have seen service in WWII as members of the Radio Intercept Platoons ranging to current active duty Marines who are ready to participate in any action throughout the world that our country calls them to. We have members who did their 2 years and got out, members who retired after 20, and those that were carried out kicking and screaming after 30. So, all elements of our cryptologic community are represented. You will meet Marines whose names are famous (or sometimes infamous) within the cryptologic field. Stories are told that will make your hair stand on end and others that will have you rolling on the floor laughing. Many of the stories will bring back some of your memories that you haven’t thought of in years. Names will come out that bring back more stories that in turn will bring back other stories. You know you are in for a treat when you hear one of the “old salts” say, “I remember one time back in …”. Our Marines are a cross culture of Marines everywhere with stories that represent the best (and sometimes not the best) of America.
Follow the links on this page for more information concerning membership eligibility, our by-laws (a little dry), guest comments, a partial membership roster, and information on past and some future reunions.
