Fellow Marines,
One of our own needs help. Thursday a fire destroyed a house in the family housing area of Camp Pendleton. A family lost their 13 year old daughter, two dogs, and all their worldly possessions. The young lady's father is a USMC MSgt and is the Ops. Chief for C Company 1st Radio Battalion.
The following email is from LtCol Parry Commanding Officer of the 1st Radio Battalion via Don Whisnant.
Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated.
Semper Fidelis,
Jay

1st Radio Battalion Marines, Sailors, Friends, Family and Loved ones,
By now, many of you have heard the terrible news of one of our Marines. Around 6am this morning a Marine in our Battalion and his family suffered a grave loss as a fire demolished their home taking a loved one, two dogs, and all of their earthy belongings with it. The family is currently residing in temporary housing with many loved ones and other family members at their side.
We have received calls from many of you; organizations, units, neighbors and friends asking how you can help in this time of need. At this time, the family is asking for a few items, and is in the process of identifying other needs. I have listed these specific items (and more) on the website PerfectPotLuck.com. Please visit this site and put your name and information next to the item you would like to donate, to avoid duplicate items being purchased. We greatly appreciate your love and generosity at this time and ask that you contact the POC next to each category to find out more information.
Also, at 8pm tonight, many of their neighbors in O'Neil heights have tied bows to the trees and are holding a prayer vigil at the site of where the home once stood. Feel free to stop by and show your support, sign the guest book and sign the contact list for future notifications regarding this family.
