Do you have any comments? Greetings, Just got the word from
my publisher; my book "Pop A Yellow Smoke" will probably be out, and
available/at bookstores by the end of April, or early May. I'll get
an ISBN to you all as soon as I receive it. It's about my tour of duty
in Vietnam with the 1st Radio Battalion from '69-'70. This book was
written in such a manner as to answer this question from my grandchildren
"what did you do in the war, grandpa?" Of course its not your typical
book about Vietnam; it's not full of blood and guts nor foul language,
but is good for the whole family. Furthermore, it gives a greater perspective
of a much mis-aligned conflict in which America was used to help stop
the meteoric spread of communism (especially in S.E. Asia), and help
bring about the final defeat of the giant Soviet Union.
It sure has been a long time coming, and has taken a lot of
midnight hours and work, to get everything (reviews, history section,
14 page glossary, 28 chronological chapter/stories, 185 pictures, etc.)
in order. It also has reviews from from severl other former 1st Rad.
Bn. folks as well as Medal of Honor winner Major General James E. Livingston,
USMC.
The change of publishers about a third of the way through
really set me back. Oh well, that's all "water under the bridge" now.
Fruition is just around the corner.

Do you have any comments? Just returned from the NCVA reunion in
San Antonio, Texas. What was missing were our friends and work mates who
shared many a billit. How about your people getting with my people and
arranging a combined reunion, or both reunions at the same time, sharing
some of the same tours and events. San Antonio would be a wonderful venue
to return to. Of course there are probably others that have neat areas where
you can walk out of the hotel and enjoy most of the area sites. The warfh
in Boston would be an idea. Crystal City with access to the metro. Just
a trial ballon, rembember shot at the target and not the ballon. Tony Novak
